Prof. Dr. Irena Sailer is a distinguished dentist and researcher, internationally recognized for her expertise in prosthodontics, implant dentistry, and esthetic restorative dentistry. She earned her doctoral degree at the University of Tuebingen, Germany and held professorships in Zurich, Switzerland, including her current role as Director of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva. She serves as an Aux. Senior Associate Dean for Digital Transformation at Columbia University, USA and received an Honorary Professorship at Aarhus Universitet, Denmark in 2019. Besides she is a certified prosthodontist with a special certificate in dental implantology from the Swiss Dental Society.
A globally recognized educator, leader, and researcher, she is President Elect of the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO), as Past President of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and is a member of several professional organizations including the Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry, the ITI Education Committee, and the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics (GNYAP).
She is also Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Prosthodontics and has published extensively, making her an influential voice in modern dentistry.
